Before the execution, we got the assignment of reviewing the test cases according to the PDS (Product Design Spec) for the new features in the next release.

Here is the background. Our team take the responsibility of execution the test cases of some separated modules. And this team did not get any training on the product. So we haven't the whole picture of it. We have to face these issues:

1. Lack the knowledge of the business rules;

2. Lack the knowledge of the logical relation among the modules;

3. Lack the knowledge of the review process.

At the beginning, we partition these modules to each member. Some big modules will be taken by more than one person. At the same time, we setup a simple review step:

1. Study the PDS. The correlative modules's owners should study and share their learning together.

2. Review the test cases by personel, and raise the issues in the template to the Test Case Design team.

3. Peer review the complex test cases in the Execution team. 

4. Verify the fix result.

5. Summarize and work out the test case review checklist based on the common defects.

6. Congritulation. Haha, just an internal action!

During the reviewing, we find a lot of defects which represent the differece of the culture and customs. These things are recorded as the common defects.

Anyway, on the test career road, we learned how to organize the test cases by reviewing others' artifact.

It's the first time for me to open my space on Internet. I'm so excited in this kind winter day with the flying snow and gray sky.

It's my last working day in 2006. By now, I just spent 3 month testing career life in Xi'an after 4.5 years SCM, 1 year SQA and 1.5 years SEPG. I'm enjoying my decision on doing some change. And I enjoy the feeling as a fresh old lady here. I can put down every glory and keep a light heart here, because I'm nothing in the testing domain.

In the past 3 months, I dived into the test case design and execution, and learned Mercury Quality Center. I spent more spared time on English. It's the time to focus on the testing technology and other quality management things because I have to face the fact that the boss might want to dismiss the Xi'an ODC after the new year. That's very cruel if he announce that. Anyway, I think I can deal with it. Now I must pick up and go through my knowledge firstly, from this day.
