SQL Operations Management and Reporting Analyst

We are searching for a SQL Operations Management and Reporting Analyst who will be responsible for regular reporting tasks as well as participation in a variety of projects and technical challenges assisting in the data extraction, management, and reporting, as we transition into the newly created ITS Operations environment.

Accountabilities:

• Act as the main point of contact for the current Data Management Information Database (DMI) held within Microsoft SQL 2008 platform
• Liaise with project team members to address application, access and security issues
• Extract and manipulate large volume of data from multiple data sources by using SQL
• Ensure user and system administration documentation is maintained
• Create ad-hoc Excel-based SQL reports
• Review business requirements and build or modify reports to meet the business needs
• Administer reporting needs which will involve report-writing customizations as required as well as SQL based extracts
• Perform. database administration functions
• Generate queries and reports to support a variety of requirements
• Develop automated and reusable routines for extracting and populating data
• Write, review and execute test SQL scripts within the necessary timescales
• Serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for software tools used in the data loading for large transactional files
• Perform. analysis and design for enterprise reporting needs
• Identify, clarify and resolve issues and risks, escalating them as needed
• Act as a liaison with business, financial, and data analysts
• Maintain, querying and reporting data in SQL Server, assist in developing standards and procedures for data management and legacy data conversions
• Perform. ad hoc duties in accordance to business needs

Qualifications:

• Post secondary education in computer science or related field
• A minimum of 5 years experience with relational database development, reporting, and data analysis, with a solid understanding of SQL
• Excellent technical knowledge in developing queries and reports from SQL databases for custom reporting system leveraging imports from several sources
• Demonstrable experience with large, complex data conversion projects
• Strong hands-on SQL (MS SQL 2008) and Excel data analysis skills - pivot tables, VLOOKUP/HLOOKUP, trendlines, etc.
• Excellent organizational skills, along with the ability to prioritize work and meet delivery schedules in a dynamic environment
• At least 5 years experience developing or supporting applications on a client server platform
• Proven experience writing complex Microsoft SQL queries procedural logic and data cleansing scripts a must have
• Understanding of load scripts and data transformation processes
• General experience with Financial ERP systems would be beneficial
• Knowledge of SAP ECC6 (FI/AP/AR, MM, WM, SD), BW 7.x would be beneficial
