Hardware Manager
Description:
This is a leadership position. The candidate will be managing a group of talented hardware engineers in research, developing, prototyping, and releasing product into production for Emerson Embedded Computing platforms. Product related responsibilities include defining and developing projects from specification to production, working with software engineers and system architects to insure proper features trade-off, and working with product marketing groups to ensure proper technology alignment with future product needs.
Qualification:
The candidate should possess a Bachelor's or Master degree in Electrical Engineering or related field with at least 7 years of engineering experience plus at least 5 years industry related management experience. Additional qualifications include:
l Must have at least 5 years of management experience
l Blade design knowledge in the area of schematic capture, floor planning, synthesis, placement and route, PWB layout, EMC/EMI, signal integrity, and package interaction are required
l A solid understanding of complex PCB design and expertise with IA architecture or PowerPC architectures is required. Experience in bus protocol
l Design knowledge with Cadence schematic capture, layout, and design for testing/manufacture would be an added advantage
l Strong leadership, analytical, and problem solving skills are required.
l Good verbal and written communication skills in both English and Chinese
l Ability to provide work and resource estimation, mitigate risks and meet cost, schedule, and quality commitments
l Experience in thermal analysis, air flow analysis, and mechanical interface such as connectors, faceplates, handles, and heat sinks
l Strong work ethic; coach/mentor/develop engineers and staffs with positive attitude
Additional qualification that is helpful:
l Experience in ATCA or MicroTCA is a plus
l A working knowledge of UNIX OS is a plus
l Experience in dealing with Rational toolset, Clearcase or Clearquest
