My way to start QTP auto testing---1

Now this is the first time I edit acomposition in my 51 testing blog.

As the first timei used QTP, i was attracted by it special functions , and the most important case is that it is very easy to use.

So my first technology blog will be started with QTP and introduce how i start an auto test from the test plan.

May be some one will like this article, so if you like it or make it useful please give me some honor so that i can share move.

Now we start !

Step 1.Read and change the manual testing plan.

When you want to use QTP auto testing technology, you may find that you need a special plan that designed for your auto testing. But you will be disappointed at the time you read the test plan created for manual testing. So when thishappened, you'd better get to your TL or PM to show your perspective. You must keep your mind that the manual test plan should be changed or rebuilded because it does not working by QTP.

So my opinion is that the first thing you aregona to do is to read and change the manual testing plan.

Step2.You should made the new plan cover the manual testing plan. Mark up which one can't be test by QTP , which one can test by QTP(you must sure) , which one mighe be test by QTP (the cases you are not quite sure).

When you become the one who is a prefessional QTP auto testing engineer, you can identify which case can be tested by QTP and which one is not available.

Step3.The cases in the new test plan must be independent to each other.

If the absolute independence can not come true you have to make sure the relation between each cases must be easy.

For exmaple, in test case 6.6.1 you will log in the system with UserA, in test case 6.6.2 you will log in the system with UserB. You must make sure what UserA have to do must be finished in test case 6.6.1 and at the beginning of case 6.6.2 what QTP have to do is just log in UserB.

Why? why the independence between each cases.

I think one of the most useful way to create actions is to build actions by test cases. And then the actions can be reuseble, easy to maintance and create test reports or logs.
